Driver James Ainslie

Driver James Lyall Ainslie, 55th Reserve Battery, 1st Reserve Brigade, Royal Field Artillery. He died at Home on 20th November 1918, aged 20. He was the son of Jane and the late William Ainslie of 8 Weatherly Square, Berwick and is buried in Berwick-upon-Tweed Cemetery. The R.F.A. normally used the 18 pounder field gun with either shrapnel or high explosive shells one of which is shown below.
