Private Isaac Newton

Private Isaac Septimus Newton, 1st Battalion, Kings Own Scottish Borderers. He was killed in France on 26th February 1917, aged 38, He was the husband of Margaret Newton of 71 Low Greens, Berwick and is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, Thiepval, Somme, France.  The Battalion spent the month of February partly in the line near Le Transloy and partly in Reserve at Meaulte and some casualties occurred by shellfire.
