Private George Skelly

Private George Skelly, 707th Coy.,Army Service Corps. He died of malarial fever on 22nd July 1917, aged 37 whilst on active service during the Salonica Campaign. He was the husband of Mary Skelly of Saltpanhoe, Scremerston and is buried in Mikra British Cemetery, Kalamaria, Thessalonika, Greece. Before the War he had worked as a gardener and left a widow and five children. His Headstone is inscribed ” Rest In Peace”.
