Private George Booth

Private George Booth, 2nd Battalion, Kings Own Scottish Borderers. He died in Tidworth Military Hospital in England on 28th April 1915 aged 30, of wounds received during the Second Battle of Ypres. He had been born in Berwick and was the husband of Isabella Booth of 41 East Street, Berwick. He is buried in Tidworth Military Cemetery, Surrey. where his Headstone is inscribed ” Rest In Peace”. It is possible he received his wounds in the attacks in the Hill 60 Sector where the Battalion was heavily engaged and suffered many casualties. The artist’s illustration tries to depict the savage fighting at Hill 60.
