Private Edward Simm

Private Edward Simm, 7th/8th ( Service ) Battalion, Kings Own Scottish Borderers. He was killed in action in France on 23rd July 1918, aged 25 and is buried in Buzancy Military Cemetery, Buzancy, Aisne, France. He had been born in Berwick and was the son of William Simm and the husband of Mary Ann Simm of 11 Chapel Street, Berwick. He fell in the rather confused fighting near the village of Buzancy where the Battalion lost heavily. 4 Officers and 95 Other Ranks were killed and 7 Officers and 214 Other Ranks were wounded.
