Major David Hunter

Major David Hunter, M.I.D., Special List.  ( This designation is a bit of a mystery but seems to encompass men on detached duties including Military Intelligence ). He died in Russia on 18th October 1919, aged 44, and is commemorated on the Haider Pasha Memorial, Istanbul, Turkey. He was the son of the late John and Helen Hunter of Old Bondgate, Jedburgh and the husband of Margaret Blair Hunter of 52 Osborne Road, Tweedmouth. The Memorial lists the names of those who died in post Armistice Operations in Russia and Transcaucasia . At that time Britain was conducting operations against the Bolsheviks.  He is also commemorated on the Foulden War Memorial.
