Sergeant Albert Amass

Sergeant Albert J. Amass, 1st Battalion, Cameronians ( Scottish Rifles ). He was killed in action in Belgium on 30th October 1914 during the Battle of First Ypres and is commemorated on the Ploegsteert Memorial, Flanders, Belgium. He was a Regular Soldier and had been born in Ipswich. At that time the Battalion was part of the 19th Brigade in the 6th Division.
