Fusilier Robert Hall, 1st Battalion, Royal Northumberland Fusiliers. He was killed in action in Egypt at the Battle of El Alamein on the 25th October 1942, aged 23. He was the son of Mr and Mrs William Hall of Bamburgh and is commemorated on the Alamein Memorial, Egypt. The photographs were taken during this victorious Battle which turned the tide in North Africa and which ended in Tunisia in May 1943 with the German and Italian surrender and over 250,000 prisoners being taken.
