Private William Clark

Private Willam Joseph Clark, 3rd Battalion, Coldstream Guards. He died in France on 14th April 1918, aged 21 of wounds received in action during the German Spring Offensives. He was the son of George and Elizabeth Clark of Radcliffe Cottages, Bamburgh and is buried in Ebblinghem Military Cemetery, Nord, France. His Headstone is inscribed ” Abide With Me “. The photographs show Allied troops in rather makeshift defences preparing to resist the German advances.
