Second Lieutenant James Lawson

Second Lieutenant James McKerchar Lawson, 1st Battalion, Kings Own Scottish Borderers. He was killed  in France on 1st July 1917, aged 23. He was the son of Mina and the late Duncan Lawson of ” Woodlands “, Old Kilpatrick, Dunbartonshire and had lived at Abbey St. Bathans. He is buried in Roclincourt Military Cemetery, Arras, France. At that time the Battalion were holding trenches in the Oppy Wood sector near Arras and he was killed by a shell having only recently joined the Battalion.
