Erected by DAVID RENTON Lennel New Town in loving memory of JESSIE WALKER his daughter who died 29th May 1899 aged 29 years.
Also the above DAVID RENTON who died 3rd March 1924 aged 77 years.
Also ISABELLA MATTISON his wife who died 16th November 1926 aged 75 years.
Commentary
When David Renton was born in 1847 in Leitholm, Berwickshire, his father, John, was 22 and his mother, Elizabeth, was 28. He had one son and one daughter with Isabella Mattison between 1873 and 1879. He died on 3 March 1924 in Lennel, Berwickshire, at the age of 77.
Isabella Mattison was born in 1851 in Coldstream, Berwickshire. She had one son and one daughter with David Renton between 1873 and 1879. She died on 16 November 1926 in Lennel, Berwickshire, at the age of 75.
