Erected by ROBERT and MARGARET ROBB in memory of HELEN who died at Coldstream 22nd November 1869 aged 19 months. Also JOHN their son who died at Oxendeanburn 22nd August 1874 aged 8 years 6 months. Also WILLIAM HAVERY son who died Oxendeanburn 30th January 1876 aged 4 years. Also MARGARET ROBB who died at Hawick 28th July 1890 aged 62 years interred in Wellogate Cemetery.

Also ROBERT ROBB who died 22nd December 1915 aged 83 years.

Commentary

In 1871 Robert Robb (37) is a Bookmaker living in the High Street in Coldstream with his wife Margaret also 37 years old, daughters Jane (10), Margaret (8), Agnes (7), Helen (5), Isabella (also 5), Helen (1) and General Domestic Servant Janet Young.   By 1891 Robert and Margaret had moved to 1 Edina Place, Hawick.  Roberts occupation is shown as a retired Grocer.  Daughters Margaret, now 25, and Mary aged 16, both Dressmakers, and Lilias aged 14 live with them.
