(This stone is detached from its base) JAMES PLENDERLEITH died 19 April 1845 aged 75 years. Also wife CATHERINE MELROSE died 22 February 1858 aged 84 years. Also son THOMAS died 25 April 1853 aged 50 years. (On the rear) Sacred to the memory of GEORGE PLENDERLEITH Coldstream who died 29 April 1871 aged 71 years. JANE WILSON his wife who died 12 October 1882 aged 65 years. Also JAMES PLENDERLEITH their son who died 6 August 1881 aged 23 years.

Commentary

James was actually James Wilson Plenderleith and he died in 40 Gillespie Crescent, Edinburgh.
