Erected by JAMES BROWN Baker Coldstream in memory of JANE HUTCHISON his wife who died 20 December 1841 aged 76 years. Also the said JAMES BROWN who died at Berwick 6 November 1849 aged 80 years.

In the 1841 census James Brown, a Baker, lived with wife Jane in the Market Place, Coldstream.
