(Probably previously in the area of rows 1 or 2). JAMES WATSONE sone to ALEXANDER WATSON (Craw) Dyer in Coldstream died 4 July 1686. Also JEAN WATSON died 28 May 1685 (Robson 1683). (The spelling is exactly as it appeared on the stone).

Found in James Robson's book of 1896 'Churches and Churchyards of Berwickshire', the date he has for Jean was 1683.

NB: Todays transcribers have found difficulty in recognising a 5 or a 3.
