Leaning forward. Erected by THOMAS HATEL in memory of his wife JANE MORTON who died in Coldstream 21 November 1851 aged 20 years. Also his son THOMAS who died 26 January 1832 aged 9 weeks. Also JOHN ALEXANDER KERR who died 19 September 1884 aged 32 years. Also ALICE KERR his wife who died at Hirsel 9 July 1886 aged 66 years. Also the above THOMAS HATEL who died 15 June 1900 aged 81 years.

Erected by JOHN WOOD in memory of ELIZABETH WALLACE died 22 May 1878 aged 83 years. Also the above JOHN WOOD who died 20 September 1881 aged 84 years. Also MARY WOOD their daughter who died 28 February 1920 aged 89 years. (Wife of the late JOHN BELL Todheugh who is buried in Edrom Church yard).

Erected to the memory of JOHN SMITH who died at Coldstream 25 September 1857 aged 75 years. Also JANET SMART his wife who died 7 October 1859 aged 75 years. In loving memory of ISABELLA SMART beloved wife of JOHN GRAY who died at Glasgow 13 September 1884 aged 29 years. Also ISABELLA SMART GRAY their daughter who died in infancy.

Also AGNES SMART wife of JOHN SMART who died 17 August 1917 aged 66 years.  (On the rear). Erected by MARY SMITH in memory of ALEXANDER SMART her husband who died 31 March 1867 aged 51 years. Also an infant daughter died 1854. Also ISABELLA who died 11 April 1854 aged 2 years. Also the above MARY SMITH who died 29 September 1892 aged 73 years. Not gone from memory nor from love. But gone to our Father’s home above

Erected to the memory of JOHN SMART who died 17 November 1835 aged 63 years. Also CHRISTIAN OLIVER his wife who died 5 June 1839 aged 67 years. Also ROBERT SMART who died 19 December 1846 aged 34 years. Also MARGARET HOOD wife of JAMES SMART who died 24 May 1857 aged 46 years. Also MARGARET their daughter aged 2 years. And the said JAMES SMART who died 18 March 1867 aged 72 years.

Very difficult to read. Erected by JAMES SPROT in memory of GEORGE SPROT his father who died 9 April 1824 aged 60 years.

JANET PIKE his mother who died 16 January 1818 aged 47 years.

GEORGE his brother who died 15 December 1803 aged 7 years.

Also MARY HUSH his wife who died 13 April 1861 aged 81 years.

Also of the above JAMES SPROT who died 22 March 1873 aged 79 years.

Also JAMES WILSON son in law of the above who died at Lennel Newtown 6 June 1877 aged 66 years.

Also JANET his daughter who died 25 September 1888 aged 49 years.

Also grandson of the above JAMES WILSON – JAMES WILSON died 3 February 1890 aged 21 years.

(This stone is detached from its base) JAMES PLENDERLEITH died 19 April 1845 aged 75 years. Also wife CATHERINE MELROSE died 22 February 1858 aged 84 years. Also son THOMAS died 25 April 1853 aged 50 years. (On the rear) Sacred to the memory of GEORGE PLENDERLEITH Coldstream who died 29 April 1871 aged 71 years. JANE WILSON his wife who died 12 October 1882 aged 65 years. Also JAMES PLENDERLEITH their son who died 6 August 1881 aged 23 years.

In memory of REBECCA ROWLAND died 18 January 1864 in her 8th year. JEANIE 29 August 1878 in her 15th year. WILLIAM ALEXANDER 13th June 1879 in his 21st year. Children of THOMAS and CHRISTINA MELROSE. CHARLOTTE ELIZABETH MELROSE died 13 March 1880 in her 28th year. HENRY MELROSE died 1 December 1882 in his 29th year. CHRISTINA ALEXANDER wife of THOMAS MELROSE died 6 January 1888 aged 58 years. Also the above THOMAS MELROSE died 2 November 1898 aged 82 years. Forever with the Lord.

Also son THOMAS died 30 January 1811 aged 1 year. Also MARGARET daughter died 21 August 1815 aged 4 years. Also daughter MARY died 13 May 1832 aged 17 years. Also son HENRY died 2 June 1832 aged 13 years. Also son JONATHAN ROWLAND Solicitor and Bank Agent died 27 February 1889 aged 75 years. (There is a broken cross at the rear which mentions CHARLOTTE and JEANIE).
