In affectionate remembrance of PHILLIS HATELY beloved wife of GEORGE HATELY  who died at Coldstream Cottage Hospital, 3rd July 1902 aged 40 years.

Also the above GEORGE HATLEY who died at Coldstream Cottage Hospital, 3rd Jany. 1903 aged 43 years.

Also GEORGE their son who was killed in action in France, 14th Nov. 1916 aged 23 years.

Commentary

When George Hately was born in 1860 in Rothbury, Northumberland, his father, George, was 33 and his mother, Ann, was 30. He married Phillis B Simmons on 14 June 1887 in Chillingham, Northumberland. They had three children during their marriage. He died on 3 January 1903 in Coldstream, Berwickshire, at the age of 43.

When Phillis B Simmons was born in 1863 in Netherton, Northumberland, her father, Robert, was 48, and her mother, Mary, was 37. She married George Hately on 14 June 1887 in Chillingham, Northumberland. They had three children during their marriage. She died on 3 July 1902 in Coldstream, Berwickshire, at the age of 39.

Son George who was Killed in action in France is buried in Warlencourt British Cemetary France. He was in Northumberland Fusiliers  He lived at  4 Long Row North Radcliffe .
